I really wish people would stop feeling defensive over Ivypool even if it's a simple "Bristlefrost was better written than her own mother" comment. Especially when the same people don't seem to understand that Dovewing is learning and growing, too; it's just not as obvious as Ivypool's growth. It's getting frustrating at this point. I shouldn't have to put up "let's be respectful" comments" over fictional book cats
Bristlefrost is better written, anyway. She's actually mature and she's what Ivypool should have been: accepting and understanding, right from the very beginning. Not disgustingly gross and holding a grudge over her sister who was completely unaware of how she felt until Night Whispers.
Honestly what is the big deal about Ivypool? She was jealous of her sister? Yeah? so what? That doesn't make her a well written character. She constantly held a grudge over Dovewing, for things that weren't her fault, and ended up blaming her for being in the Dark Forest, even though Ivypool herself was the one who fell for Hawkfrost's manipulation. She's an idiot and I don't get the appeal of her. Ivypool never recognized her own faults, and she didn't want Dovewing to be happy with Tigerheart, which is why I hate her. She's incredibly selfish, if not more than Dovewing. All of this started because she wanted attention from her sister. She ended up blaming her for the mistakes she has made. How is Ivypool not a selfish character, how is she innocent, like her fans say she is?

Honestly I find a little disturbing how people say that Ivypool is a relatable character. How in hell is treating your sister like shit is relatable in any way? In my opinion, how Ivypool treated Dovewing from the moment the became apprentices until Ivypool had her own kits was way beyond a simple jealousy reaction to pure abuse and neglect (because neglecting your own sister is as shitty as neglecting your own offspring, afterall, they are family aswell) and as you, I can't with all the passive-aggressiveness in the defense of Ivypool, forum speaking. We both can accept that Dovewing has messed up plenty of times, but it seems it's a requisite to be an Ivypool fan in that forum to act butthurt every single time she's mentioned. I agree, Bristlefrost is WAY better written than her mother and a way better character by far, but even this is a complicated topic there because for them, there's no other good character apart from Ivypool.
Honestly another character that I feel is being over hated is Tigerstar II. Yeah, he acted like a dick in SFH and TRS but he wasn't the only one. But I hardly see anyone trowing shit to Mistystar (who was the one attacking ShadowClan and pushing him to act like that) or Harestar.
I saw that you snapped back at Maple the other day. Honestly I TOTALLY aggred with you and was happy that finally someone said to them how painful they were becoming to read about. I didn't know how it ended, sadly but at least, you took my words off my mouth.

I understand in a way why people say they can relate to her. It's because of her feeling jealous towards her sister, which is fine, there's nothing wrong with relating to a character, because I relate to Hollyleaf in many ways, but my problem with Ivypool's fans is that they seem to think she can do no wrong and excuse her for everything. Like, I've noticed during debating, that whenever I bring up Ivypool's flaws and point them out, people are quick to bring up Dovewing's own flaws and then act aggressive about it. Okay, fine, Dovewing isn't perfect, but can you at least accept that with Ivypool? She wasn't innocent, and it bothers me that people think she was. Ivypool was terrible to Dovewing. Dovewing broke the code, but so what? There's so many other cats who broke the code to be with their forbidden mate, and these fans don't seem to care about it. I've even seen many people defend Graystripe x Silverstream, yet they give Dovewing x Tigerheart complete shit and claim "it's different". Tell me how, again? It's not. It's literally EXACTLY the same.
Honestly, my only complaint about Dovewing is that she's a victim of bad writing, and that her forbidden relationship didn't need to drag on as long as it did. It was completely unnecessary, I do agree with the people that complain about Dove x Tiger, but it disturbs me how people say that her kits or the entire family should die because they don't like Dove x Tiger. It makes them look like massive hypocrites. Even Mothflight was disturbed by this, and she doesn't even care about Dove x Tiger. It's not fair to judge their kits because of their parents. I think even Mistybreeze snapped at people for this and called them out for their hypocritical act before.
I do feel like the Erins learned from how they wrote Dovewing and Ivypool, like deep down they knew they were half-assed characters so they wrote Bristlefrost into a better character who handled her jealousy the right way. I love Bristlefrost, she's exactly what I wanted: a good role model on how to handle her jealousy the right way. I don't like Ivypool at all for how she handled hers. She just wasn't what I wanted, but Bristlefrost is a huge improvement. And honestly, Ivypool was fine after she grew out of her jealousy, but then Dovewing crawled back to Tigerheart, and Ivypool was an asshole about it all over again. The only reason I'm disgusted with her character so much is because she couldn't understand that Dovewing wanted to be happy, or she didn't care. It was so obvious! Ivypool wanted Dovewing to drop Tigerheart for her own selfish benefits. Why do people like this character so much? She's disgusting.
Yeah, I was completely fed up with Maplefrost's bullshit. I don't know if you ever saw her reply though, but I can probably show you through via notes if you want to. I know what she did wasn't that bad, but she's been passive aggressive for so long, I got fed up with it and called her out. It was obvious that she aimed her snarky comment at Brindlefern, and I know she was playing the "I didn't aim it at her," card. Ngl, she was really bad at covering herself when I was arguing with her. I don't think I was even that bad. Did I snap at her? Should I have done it out in public? Yes, and probably not. But I just got so fed up with her bullshit, I didn't care anymore. The forums are toxic and we get away with shit too easily anyways. Her last reply was uncalled for and played as a victim, acting like I "betrayed" her or whatever. It was ridiculous. I didn't betray her; I literally just called her arrogant and that's it. Twisterheart and Mothflight both said I had every right to be pissed at her for acting like a victim. I asked just to be sure, since I know I'm quite unfair with my own behavior on the forums. I let some of her behavior slide before, but when she aimed that shit at Brindlefern, I just lost patience. So many other people have called her out on her own shit too: Basement Cat, Mellow, Mothflight herself, and me. She doesn't listen, and I'm coming to the realization that Maplefrost just doesn't care at this point.

Do you question the members on the forums sometimes? I've noticed that people get mad at cats like Jayfeather for not wanting to save Breezepelt, but they don't seem to realize/remember that his life was on the line once. If it wasn't for Honeyfern, he'd have been a goner.
Also I'm disappointed that people defend people like Finleap and Bumblestripe. While I can understand Bumblestripe's anger a little more, it's disappointing that fans think that Twigbranch should give him a chance because he "apologized". Didn't he use a petty "I was having a bad day" excuse? Which isn't even a valid reason for his treatment, considering he hurt her more than once.
It also baffles me that people actually think that Raven, Freckle and Apple deserved to die.
I often don't understand, and it's partly why I don't debate anymore (But I admit I have my moments because I genuinely do think that their thinking is dangerous and unhealthy)
I also remember back then that people swapped Ivypool's and Dovewing's personalities, with Dovewing being the "mean one" and Ivypool being the one who's "ignored".
It's just something I've noticed on the site. I can't be the only one worried about their thinking.

The Bumblestripe - Finleap drama always gets me. Okay, Finleap apologized (and Bumble didn't, but people love to forget this lmao) but honestly the fact that in cannon Twigbranch gave him another chance and that there's people who say he deserves another chance... no-uh. At least, not with Twigbranch, he already proved he doesn't love Twig nor want her to be happy. He olnly cared about his own happiness so why the fucking frick to stay with him?.
I'm genuingly socked that people finds Ivypool relatable . It's okay to like her character, I don't obviously but finding her jealously relatable? That's messed up, considering how she treated her sister like crap FOR YEARS for almost no reason. That's... relatable? I'm scared.
But yeah, that's why I'm not as participative as I would love to.

It's honestly really toxic, and I think I'm done with that site. Recently on a topic, people had the nerve to call me out (I understand that I wasn't the best, but other people were acting just as passive -aggressive and arrogant on there) but everyone else's behavior gets a free pass, excusing it by saying "it's hard to tell the difference by the tone" . In that Dovewing topic, people called me out for it, even though I wasn't even angry, and others gets away with it. That was when I decided "no more" because I don't understand why these mods let people get away with others' shitty behavior. It's on the "Should Ivypool have gone after Dovewing?" topic if you were curious . I just find it ridiculous. I ended up calling everyone else out for their own behavior, and honestly I'm not sorry. Multiple people left the site because it's toxic. People are rude over fictional cats, I don't get their thinking, it's just not worth being on there any more imo
I'm not mad anymore but I do find it laughable how arrogant these people are. I haven't forgotten that half of those people talked shit about others on there.. I just find it funny.
I also remember when Mymyercat (?) asked about Kate's email, and everyone after so rude about it. JayH called them out to stop, and Sand was upset about it. It was a simple freaking question. That website was a part of my stress, and if people are going to take fictional cats so personally then it's not even worth being on there anymore. They need more mods, tbh. I didn't like the older ones before, but now I'm starting to see why the mods were so strict. :/

Yeah, I was there too, in the "Should Ivypool have gone after Dovewing" topic and I honestly was surprised, because when it comes to specific people mods do nothing or simply put the blame into others. I've seen it twice and that freking topic just made me say "fuck this, I'm not taking this anymore, plus fuck this Ivyfans too". I'm really a passive and quiet person but that just got to my limit and left that cursed place. I'm glad I didn't witnessed all of these situations but wow, how toxic a place can be.

It was ridiculous and childish. I finally had the time to go on there and check the replies and my friend wasn't joking about the bitter replies. I'm all for disagreements, but that topic wasn't even a debate; it was people acting childish and sarcastic because we don't like Ivypool. Apparently we "find an excuse to hate her". No. We have reasons. They are the ones who need to grow up. I've showed Sand about it, and so did Rainleaf. I'm just not going to debate on there anymore. I don't want to waste my time with grown ass people who can't be mature.
