# About me

IntroDUCKtion

All that glitters is not gold,
That is what I have been told.
I've often wondered about that
And if, indeed, it is a fact.

I'm not convinced; I still don't know
But I can't just accept: "I told you so."
Glitter surely catches the eye
Of many of those passing by.

Whether glitter is gold, is really moot.
It suits some as a substitute.
It can cheer us up when we are sad,
Surely that is good and can't be bad.

Glitter had something...I can't explain,
It made it all seem like a game.
It attracted me like a newly minted dime,
Causing my path to turn slippery with slime.

A little glitter, I thought, does not harm.
It's really no cause for alarm.
Sometimes we need what it provides;
Brightness and beauty in our lives.

At last I've now reached a final conclusion,
That glitter is really a kind of illusion.
Glitter is not gold, I'll have to agree,
But it's not without value if it pleases me.

Still, a word of warning may be due;
Just don't let glitter overwhelm you.
Although gold might have fine things to offer,
It can not make your heart any softer!

$crooge McDuck Quotes by the comics of Don Rosa and Carl Barks:

“I have a world-wide empire to run! I can’t just drop everything and fritter away time on nonsense!”
(Scrooge to Goldie after just being kissed by her on his golden jubilee.)

“Farewell, dear memories!”
(Scrooge standing before his shrinking money bin.)

“But I’ll show you how much I have left! I’ll show you youngsters and your lazy generation!”
(During the first meeting with Donald and the boys in the McDuck mansion.)

“They spend their lives building a meaningless collection that they only plan to someday sell...to a buyer who only plans to resell it! It’s all so silly!”
(Scrooge about coin collectors.)

“Gearloose! If I lose my umpteen fantasticatillions dollars because of your ineptitude, I’m deducting it from your fee!”
(Flying over Duckburg in the money bin.)

“But they’ll figure out some way to get my money! They’ll keep coming at me till they wear me out!”

“Searching for valuable meteors is a fresh challenge! It’s as close as I can get to the frontiers of the stars!”

“Shut up, nephew! Scrooge McDuck never surrenders, even infront of a certain end!”
(Scrooge to the boys while plummeting down to the centre of the earth.)

"The quality of your lives depends on what you make of them! The only limits to adventure are the limits of your imagination!"
(Scrooge McDuck, The Richest Duck in the World)

I just found your fanfics and comics and let me tell you, they were entertaining. I always wanted to see more of Scrooge's and Goldie's relationship.
Anyway, I see you haven't been active for such a long time... maybe this message might never reach you? I hope it would. I would be interested to see what sort of things you're interested in, and creating these days.

Hi!
I see it´s been a long time since you had the last activity here on deviantART, uploaded some pictures, and I just wanted to tell you I´m a little sad about this. I love your pictures of Scrooge and Goldie and... maybe you would like to start again drawing?

Again many thanks for all your nice comments and the favs!

I like your whole gallery a lot, you have a very beautiful detailed style that is really individual although undeniably inspired by Don Rosa. (AND your colouring skills are amazing!) You know, one can really feel the enthusiasm you make your art with.
I sincerely hope you'll have more time soon to honour deviantART again with your wonder- and thoughtful drawings and especially to continue your great comic 'The forgotten' -- it's definitevly worth it!!

Have a splendid time and take care!

I'm reading Don Rosa's comics right now, brings back memories when I read them as a kid. Your art is really nice, makes me remember all those times... like why didn't Scrooge stay with Goldie after she worked with him for one month. Or why didn't he open the damn letter. Argh, now I want to draw some fan art myself!

Aru3000 In reply to Aru3000 [2011-09-16 21:58:26 +0000 UTC]

Well, when I have some more time - I'll read your stories. One thing I remember is that Scrooge did go back, with Donald, to Yukon AND met Goldie again. Too bad it was to late for them to even try to change their lifes.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GlitteringGoldie In reply to Aru3000 [2011-09-18 14:26:38 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that ia called "The Last Sled to Dawson". Some believe it was not too late, but too early....

Thing is, Scrooge lived his life the way he wanted to, until he started wasting his life in the big mansion. That is truly the only time I think he should have returned for her. But then again he wouldn't have met his nephews and all the adventure wouldn't have happened. So it had to be.

GlitteringGoldie In reply to Aru3000 [2011-09-16 21:46:14 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much for your feedback!!

Well, if you ask me, Scrooge was busy mining and had set himself a goal, not only to financially support his family, but also become successful and wealthy! Goldie had a business of her own in Dawson and there would be trouble if she were missing for much longer. However he could have asked her to see her again in Dawson to keep up the contact, but we don't know why he didn't...

In my acrylic work "Of Fate and Fortune" you'll find the answer to your second question.

If you also like fan fiction, you're also welcome to read my fanfic about Scrooge returning to the Yukon for her in 1954! But be warned, this is my own rendition of what could have happened!

What. I can't believe that I wasn't watching you. Catch the watch!
I've read your comic and I'm hardly waiting for more. The story is really intresting and original, I didn't expect that somebody can hit on that idea. I'm curious what will happen later. Drawings are pretty sketchy and this is absolutely for good. Everything is dynamic and lets readers to get into the story's atmosphere. I hope you'll continue that one.
You're doing the great job with the ducks and one of my favourite pairing. Keep it this way.

I didn't have the time to take a closer look to every piece of work, but I like it I just read the first chapter of ur story, and I have to say I'm impressed! (though I still can't imagine Scrooge saying those meaningful 3 words... ) I'll read the following chapters soon hehe It made me think, somehow, of the story "Dream of a lifetime", when he finally got a chance to change his life... even if only in his dream.
Ah Scroogey... I always wondered what would have happened if he had opened Goldie's Letter, or not lost his sledge. Actually I guess there's an episod I heard of I've nerver read : the one he returns to Yukon with his nephews and retrieves his sledge...
Anyway, keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for your fantastic feedback! It really means a lot to me!

I'm glad you like the fanfic! Yeah, it is hard to imagine him saying that,...I think he was at his psychically on the edge at that point. Well, it's how I could explain it!
Oh, how I love "Dream of a Lifetime"! It really does make you wonder what he really wanted to say to her if he had the chance! I believe that was one of Don's emotionally strongest works and it inspired much of my fan art too, come to mention it!
Ah, that story is called "The Last Sledge to Dawson"!
Thank you! I'll try!

I just looked at your gallery and was positively surprised by all your great portraits! It's like a personality collection! They are really well done and I enjoyed them very much
Keep up the good "capturing" too!

I love your gallery, you are very talented as an artist! It was a small shock when I found your works, I remember having a dream of becoming a comics creator for Disney when I was a child, a dream long forgotten. I tried doing some sketches back then but I was nowhere close to the level of talent you present us here. You should probably buy a graphics tablet and start working in digital. Your life will be easier and your sketches will become cleaner and even more professional-like. Haven't had the time to read your stories, but I intend to do so soon. Keep them coming!
