Hey, that's entirely up to you! I have my own issues; I didn't like the idea of mixing OCs and canon characters, so I've placed my sector in a different town, approximately a decade after the show ended, and that way, none of the canon characters are around anymore.

yeah i think similarly, though i dont mind some interaction with canon characters. only thing i dont like is ROMANTIC interactions with canon characters, cause thats just straight creepy. o.o

I disagree with pairing up canon characters and OCs entirely, too. And I dislike for OCs to have family ties with canon characters. I guess when you've been in a fandom for too long, you can't help but get a little cynical. XD;
