Are you familiar with 'Your Lie in April'?
That show is one of the very few occasions in animation where a Karmic Death is treated/portrayed as a Tear Jerker, due to the dying person acknowledged her potential fate as a Karmic Death and willing to accept it fully, should it become a reality, which it did (offscreen).

When I try to visualize an Inkling-Octoling hybrid as such, it would probably be one that has the tentacle-hair of an Inkling, while having an octopus' tentacles for a lower body.
Can you imagine either an Inkling or an Octoling as a cecaelia?
