Btw.1: I was at Bømlo last weekend. Rune told me to say Hi! He's leaving Bømlo this summer, as far as I know. Wonder where he'll stay next, and how long, but I hope he'll go back to the stage, or find another school to teach youths or children.
Btw.2: I have had a tough time at school since christmas, so I haven't had time to see Les Mis before last week. But then two times. I both love and hate it. I like most of the people, but I'm disappointed with Hugh Jackman. Too much Vibrato when he's singing. And I don't think he have the voice to sing both the young and old Veljean, but otherwise I like the film. What did you think?

Aw! I'd tell you to say hi back to him from me – but I guess that would require some going back in time... Thanks anyway! And hey, if you find out what he'll be doing next, let me know – I'd of course love to see him onstage again!

Ah, I know that feeling about the Les Mis movie, I have a sort of a love/hate relationship with it myself, too... I agree about Hugh Jackman. His acting was fine, but the singing. Oh man. It's so painfully clear the part doesn't suit his voice, especially during Bring Him Home! (Odd how Russell Crowe gets all the hate, his Stars is pretty much the only thing I listen to from the movie soundtrack...)

I also think the movie has way too many closeups, and personally I don't find the barricade boy scenes very interesting (they're usually my favourites). Maybe they were cut down too much, almost everything Enjolras and Grantaire say during Red and Black is gone... But then again, I really liked what the film did with the character of Fantine, and how it switched songs around to make more sense, and the Gavroche was amazing, as was little Cosette, and did I already mention I love Russell Crowe as Javert and cried like a very very sad waterfall during Stars just because I thought it looked and sounded so pretty...

So yeah, not completely disappointed! (Sorry, this is turning into a rant.)

I totally agree with you. The first time I saw it, I war purelly disappointed. I did not like anyone but Gavroche, but then, the second time, I could really appreciate the film, appreciate Javert and his feeling (for once), little Cosette, and I really like Sasha Baron Choen as Tenardier. I think that was one of the most successfull casted roles in the entire film.
I think we should see it together one time. I think that would be fun

Heh, I'm the other way around – first time, I felt very happy (well, right after I managed to stop crying...), the second time I was all pessimistic and borderline I-hate-this, the third time I just enjoyed the show.

I agree about Javert, though! I've had the luck of seeing some amazing Javerts live, but somehow the movie still helped me to appreciate the character in a new way. Something about the way Stars was shot, especially, showed me the human side of Javert I've never seen in any adaptation previously. Actually, the movie was a really eye-opening experience altogether. You'd think that after, what, 18 times seeing the show live, I would know it by heart... But the movie actually helped me to understand some of the characters' motivations better!

One day... Maybe we'll once have a whole musical movie marathon together!

I'm still waiting for Les Mis though. The opening night (premiere) isn't before 18th or 19th january. I hope it's the 19th. Then I can celebrate a National Competition in Warhammer by a good night in the cinema.

Glad to hear that! I had pretty good ones, too. Lots of food, I guess that's the most important thing... Now, I'm back to school, full of motivation, took up spoken Swedish and all. Let's see how long it takes before all motivation is gone... What's up with you, school-wise?

Argh, so they moved the premiere... x__X Oh well, it seems we'll be seeing the movie on the same day after all – my family got a gift card for a short cruise from Helsinki to Tallinn and back. We're going on January 19th – and they have the premiere then! Eek. Only a week and a half to go! Can't believe it's finally happening, and that despite all I'll get to see it before the Finnish premiere!!

Lucky you. I won't be able to see it before the 20th, but thast's because of some school projects. The 19th there is a Norwegian National competition in the game Warhammer, and we special effects students are gonna be life size Warhammer creatures. I'm gonna be a Goblin. You'll see here how it turns out. The goblin is going to be in my gallery.
I'm applying for the Norwegian Film Institute, for manuscript writing and production design, so I hope they take me in there. If not, I will spend two years studying illustration. Not bad that either, but illustration is 50.000kr per year, and the film institute is for free. And after a year with 110.000kr in school money, I can't really afford two more years with pay school. I can't really afford this year. But it's just so awesome studies that I have to finish them.
Special Effects Makeup Artist. It's a fine title...

Aw... But I bet it's worth the wait! I hear there's a high quality bootleg making rounds, but I won't watch that just yet – after years of waiting for this film, I can bear waiting for five days more. (Which reminds me, I shall do nothing but make awful One Day More puns all Friday. )

National Warhammer competition, as in the game with miniatures? I never thought you might have national competitions in that, but why not – and can't wait to see your Goblin costume!

As for the school stuff, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. It's a shame school can sometimes be so expensive... :/ But here's to hoping the Film Institute wants you!! And hey, if it's any solace, I think your schools sound a bit like a real-life version of Hogwarts (with a bit less students put in danger, though, I hope)... First musicals, then Special Effects Makeup? That's just way too sweet, or at least it sounds totally awesome. I'm just being a boring journalist here.

Yup. Warhammer, as in the game with miniatures. There's been national competitions in England for many years now, and now there is so many WH-nerds in Norway that they decided to arrange this competition. I guess I'll see a lot of geeks on saturday...

Well, It's not exactly like Hogwarts. There is no teacher like Snape. I would like to have one really scary teacher, but there is none. And we don't have any subjects. It's just Special Effects Makeup all day, every day of week, from 9 in the morning till 16.30 (with teachers) and allmost every day to 20.00 or later in the evening with work at school. In England this education takes three years. Here, it's one, so it's lots of work after school to learn everything. And since I have no equipment to run masks in foam latex or silicone at home, I'll just have to stay late at school. But it's fun non the less. Just not really any time off...

Og litt smal midje og litt lange bein, men jo da, ellers veldig bra. En god tegning i og for seg, skjønt, som du jo selv har sagt, noen proposjoner som ikke er helt etter boka. Men hvilket levende menneske har egentlig proposjoner helt etter boka?

Sorry at jeg ikke har svart på bloggen. Har ikke hatt tiltak til det. Har brukt alt tiltaket på Halloween. Blir liksom litt sånn i år som da jeg var liten, annet enn at nå lager jeg kostymet mitt selv, og har en litt annen tanke bak det...

Det er for et spill. Noen jeg kjenner i USA skal lage et videospill, som de har tenkt å få publisert når de er ferdige. Kan til og med hende at det blir litt penger å hente om et år eller to.

De har spurt meg om jeg kan være interessert i å designe spill-karakterene, etter å ha sett arbeidet mitt.
De ba meg om å lage en blyantskisse så korrekt som mulig, men ikke nødvendigvis 100% realistisk (det er et fantasy-spill). Jeg tegnet han krigeren min her, og det eneste de sa trengte arbeid var føttene hans. Ellers var den visst perfekt.
Jeg skal kanskje (mest sannsynlig) begynne å designe spillkarakterer! Fy søren hvor jeg gleder meg!!!!!

Det er ikke sånn. Det er et action/eventyrspill som skal koste litt penger å laste ned. Før de vet om det vil slå an, i hvertfall, vil det være altfor dyrt å trykke opp fysiske eksemplarer av det, så de skal markedsføre det på noen bestemte spillnettsider bare.
