# About me
I am a self-imposed hermit living in the frigid wasteland of ice, commonly known as Alaska. About half of that is true - come here in the summer and you'll see it quite green and happy, if a bit cooler than most places. My parent's house is 27 miles from the nearest town and someday soon I might have a yurt of my own nearby (I'm quite fond of this place). There are mountains out every window and our nearest neighbor is a quarter of a mile down the road. We have 72 acres here.
My interests are like my moods - they swing from one thing to the next, sometimes in dramatic fashion. One week I'll be drawing pictures every day (or reading 7 books), and the next I'll be writing 40,000 words for a story. I have huge highs and huge lows.
Physical fitness is a driving force in my life full of obsessions that require hours of sitting down - I live a somewhat conflicted existence. Competition gets my blood going like nothing else though and losing is not something I always do gracefully (shame on me).
I love dragons. When exactly this adoration started is unknown to me - I'm convinced I was born with the lesser known "Dragon gene" (God gene anyone?) for they have inspired me for as long as I can remember.
I'm looking out for magic because I think there should be some in life.
I am a hunter and have been since I was old enough to handle a .22. I hunt for food and because I enjoy living in the outdoors. I love and respect nature. I also understand what it means to be a part of it. As a meat hunter, the conservation of wildlife and habitat is one of the other biggest driving forces in my life.
I mean to treat everything around me with respect and care, even when I act like a moron, which I'd like to apologize for in the event that you are on the receiving end of it. Do right by everything around you, not just the people.
Someday I'm going to travel around the world - the Universe too. I'm holding out that some alien will come cruising by and pick me up for a grand adventure.
Current Residence: Alaska
Favourite genre of music: Probably New Age, but I don't like to limit myself.
Favourite style of art: Graphite
MP3 player of choice: ipod.
Wallpaper of choice: Mass Effect
Favourite cartoon character: Marvin from Looney Tunes
Personal Quote: Suck it up, Kaasan.

Trust me, by now I've played my fair share of it. played the hypothetical routes for all but Wei (cause dang, my favorite Kingdom is hard to beat well) and beaten historical routes for Jin and Wei. Oh, god, Zhang He, Xu Huang, Cao Ren...i'm just so happy they get to DO SOMETHING in this game <3 also, one such as myself must love Lu Meng and Ma Dai...also, Xiahou Ba...cause he's just likable, but my favorite new character HAS to be Jia Chong, he's just great...also, Li Dian and Yue Jin are fun...ok, now I'm getting annoying. What are you enjoying in the game? also, i don't believe i know your favorite characters. Please, share all of the details, i talk enough, haha...sorry, but please, i'm all ears...well, now i am...damn i ramble

Wei is a good kingdom. I've got quite a few favorites in Wei, including my ultimate fav, Zhang Liao. Yup, he gets my number 1 spot. Xu Huang is freakin' awesome in this game too though. This is my favorite of his designs I'd say, and I'm also really fond of Zhang He's new design. And I like Yue Jin as well. But number 2 spot would have to go to Zhou Tai. He's definitely my second fav. A nod to Lu Meng though who is one of my favorite Wu characters. We've only played through the Wei side of story mode. We just started Shu and Wu will be last so most of the characters I haven't gotten to play yet. I guess for Shu Zhao Yun has always been my old standby, as well as Ma Chao. And here I'm forgetting all about Jin. Well before Sima Yi was a Wei guy, but since he's now technically Jin I have to put him as my favorite Jin character, because he's just so sneaky. I also liked Sima Shi. Having only played Yue Jin of all the new characters I haven't been able to form an opinion on any of the others. There are just so many characters!
I think they've added a bunch of cool elements to the fighting with the rage bar, or whatever you call it, that turns your musou into something uber. Then there's the weapon affinity bonus, which makes things more interesting and adds another element, although I'm not sure how positive I feel about it when I'm surrounded by 3 generals and no matter how I switch my weapons there's ALWAYS somebody that has the stronger weapon. It certainly makes it more challenging though. I'm really happy that everyone gets a unique move set and it's just been plain fun to play.Β
Rambling is fine . I ramble too.

One must have the greatest respect for Zhang Liao, never backing down if his Lords beliefs are on the line, i mean the man work for Dong Zhuo, and DIDN'T hate him! that takes such honor. As much as i LOVE Zhang He's DW6 design, i believe this one gives him...purpose. ZHou Tai is just...the coolest, he was the first character i ever played (well, i mean i played my custom character "JACKIE!!!" from DW4E and i played Zhang Jiao when i was DKJ jr. and playing DW3, but i mean my first character i played when i had them all unlocked). See, i have to be honest...i don't really like Zhao Yun...i mean, i know you do, but i dunno...I don't really even like Zhang Fei, Guan Yu, or Zhuge Liang either...I much prefer Pang Tong, Wei Yan, Huang Zhong, Ma Dai, and Liu Bei from Shu, i dunno, it's just me. If one does not have respect for Sima Yi, then i dunno if they actually play Dynasty Warriors at all, for the man is a genius, and evil as heck. Sima Shi, takes after his father, much unlike Zhao, who takes more after Zhang Chunhua. And I'm sure you'll play the new characters, they are all just so...COOL.
They combined the DW6 system of weapons and the DW7 system to come up with the brilliance of DW8's. i usually don't mind if they have the exclamation point, they usually can't do anything to me cause the weapons are so strong that i have. The new weapons, as much as i enjoyed the old ones, FAR outclass them. The Siege spear was the first i tried and it was AMAZING, but i do have respect for other ones.
Rambling? i can do that in my sleep...i probably do...

I really have no strong attachments to Zhao Yun anymore. We have a long history of him being the first character I always played with my brother because he's one of the only characters of mine that's unlocked in the very beginning of each game, so it's kind of a tradition that I always play him first, although that wasn't the case with DW8. He's dropping rapidly out of favor in lieu of new characters. I've never been a fan of Zhang Fei and Guan Yu I'm indifferent to - he's always been my brother's favorite. He even kind of looks like him, in a totally un-asian way lol. My brother's beard isn't long enough though . I've always liked Liu Bei, although I preferred him with the facial hair, but he's fun to play. Xu Shu has totally blown me away and his fighting style is so much fun to play that he's rapidly rising in the ranks of my favorite all time characters.
But regardless, you certainly don't have to agree with me on everything. Variety is the spice of life they say . Or as one of my favorite quotes would say "I don't have to agree with you to like you and respect you". Simple as that.Β
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. My work puts me out in the field 4 days a week so I have no internet access during that time, or DW8 access. My brother is also out in the field, but for longer, so I have to wait till next Thursday when he gets back before I can play again. It's our special thing to play together. We've really only just scratched the surface of the game, but I can't wait to play again. Soon enough I suppose. Ramble away!
Till next time,Β

Thank you though. A little extra encouragement always helps, .

Well I've always loved it here. It's a beautiful place - perfect if you enjoy the outdoors. We're having a pretty mild winter this year too, although a lot of people are unhappy with the lack of snow. I'm biased though because I can play hockey on the lake as long as it doesn't snow, .

I bet it is! I love the outdoors too, the only problem is where I live the outdoors is on the dead side =/
Hockey on a frozen lake sounds awesome! Even though I never played XD

Faerlyte In reply to Requiem-Delacroix [2011-02-04 01:38:10 +0000 UTC]
My first experience with Dynasty Warriors was DW3. I still remember some of the epic battles we had - I play co-op with my brother. There were some brutal stages in DW3, like He Fei castle back when archers were deadly when playing on hard. We'd be almost dead and re-doing from the last save over and over to try and escape. Those were the days, .
Whereabouts do you live then, if you don't mind my asking? I live in the south central area of Alaska and there gets to be a lot of vegetation in the summer so I like to call it the northern tropics, . It gets so green here where I live and with the mountains all around us it really is spectacular.
Well it's never too late to try! You should definitely try a pick up game of hockey sometime. Around here you just get together with a bunch of your neighbors and head down to one of the lakes (there are two close by). It really is a blast because it doesn't matter if you're a beginner or more advanced - we're just playing around to have a good time and get some exercise.

Requiem-Delacroix In reply to Faerlyte [2011-02-04 16:37:35 +0000 UTC]
Oh man I remember those archers, always a blast trying to be all heroic trying to take them down then running and jumping away to safety knowing you are going to die! Most memorable moment(s) would be fighting lubu the first time...I loved hearing his theme and always ran away! Lol Another moment would be the Nanman stage, just awesome.
I live in south Texas. Weather is always bloody hot (except right now surprisingly, everything is covered in ice!) In December you could walk around in shorts if you wanted. All we have around here are alot of people. Parks are just flat pieces of land. My house has way more trees than most parks! (My father also loves nature so he planted a bunch a long time ago)
That would be cool, probably in the future when I move slightly up north. Hopefully there's and ice rink or something. Even though I don't know how to skate on the ice...but I can learn!
Me and my friends are a bunch of gamers/geeks and we try to play basketball...hilarious chaos ensues because no one knows how to play. XD

Faerlyte In reply to Requiem-Delacroix [2011-02-05 03:12:27 +0000 UTC]
I remember doing a lot of fleeing from Lu Bu, haha. He's always a beast. My brother and I would try to tag team him sometimes. Oh yeah, the Nanman stages have always been great. The Wu Zhang plains are another one of the epic battles I remember - I died a LOT on that one.
Oh wow, yeah, you've got it warm down there. I don't think I could live in that kind of heat - too intense for me. A little on the flat side too, . At least you've got some trees though!
I'm sure you could find an ice rink somewhere up north. It takes some practice to get good at skating, but it's a lot of fun. My advice - wear padding on the elbows and knees, haha. When I was learning to skate I had a helmet and elbow pads - those were the biggest things. When I'm playing hockey on the lake I wear the knee pads too. I've got the entire get up for hockey, but I don't put it all on for our pick up games.
