# About me
WARNING!Smoking is bad
it is a bad habit
it leaves your habitat smelly
it compromises your health (in a bad way; this has to be stated here)
it shrinks your wallet badly, while at the same time people shrink away from you
it makes you an outcast
it makes you a nobody, a no-hoper, a loser
a joyless indulgence, since soon, there won't be anybody left to share it with you
So, kids and kiddies
boys and girls
YMCA / YWCA members
before they give up on you (yes, they are as heartless)
stub out
Or, as I had to hear as a kid: you smoke like the Turks, that's why you won't grow! And I didn't. At least not to an olympic size.

Are you sure you have enough interests listed? We just met (I think???), and I could already add a lot more
Or possibly we've been living in mirrored alternate worlds? I better get some sleep, I'm rambling & Santa seems to be coming down my chimney-oh, wait, it's just my BIZARRE cat, Indie

You see, Julie, I thought that my interests are of no interest to anybody else, so I stuck to the basics. And I was right - until you came along and remarked on them. I could add politics, economy (the little I understand of it), human history, particle physics, movies (to a certain extent), the madness of being and so on.
It won't do me any good to come up with a comprehensive list, since I'll never be able to do justice to all these fascinating matters.
So it wasn't Santa who came down the chimney but Indie? Time to dust her off. Unless she's wearing a black fur coat anyway.

Haha! Yes she is mostly black, thank goodness. Indie is always getting into mischief beyond any cat I have ever known- and I have known many. She can jump higher, has longer legs, a longer tail, and more strength than any other single cat I know anywhere. And she is not even FULL GROWN She was trying to climb UP the chimney, her first winter with fire, so I guess she wanted to check it out without the flames. I believe she may be an alien cat, really- from another planet or somewhere.. Perhaps she was sent to me to keep me entertained when I was inclined to grieve a lot. Strange, she had a microchip implanted in her at the shelter, but it did not match up to her- wrong age, wrong color, wrong info..very odd..
As to the list of interests, no of course it's not possible to do justice to all of them or perhaps any one of them. Besides, who would understand ALL of those topics anyway ? I may send you a note with a list of my somewhat limited goals here on DA, instead of embarrassing myself in the open here
I just can't understand why I am the only one interested in such things? I have also found some fantastic posts about creating works of art & improved carts for homeless people, many lofty & admirable projects that had apparently been ignored for the most part. Since I am currently 1 of 2 partners in a very hectic business, I have very little time to spend on DA, but if that is the case, why is no one else NOTICING THESE THINGS?
Many people seem to have endless hours to spend online, here and elsewhere. I won't say I'm not envious of the idea, but not if it accomplishes nothing but idle gossip and begging for points. This latter comment stems from my recent experience with the most annoying behavior, lack of manners, and no comprehension of the concept that asking someone (like me) for lots of points 3 times in one day after I've said I have few points left is really- appalling & selfish! Also sending a holiday greeting to a stranger which is really a point request is just....grrrr..

Thank you, you not truly Mad MonaLisa. It will take me some time to go through your rather expansive body of work and appreciate the individual works accordingly. Since I spend (waste) a lot of time dedicated to the creation of music nowadays, I'm not as often as active in deviantArt as I used to be. There is just too many souls demanding their rightful space: the word, the picture, the music. But I don't mean to complain. They're all equal. I just can't seem to do them justice, all of them.
You are very gifted indeed, Daniella. And I like it a lot that you approach your visions from many different angles, resulting in works surprising and unexpected. And, not be forgotten and equally important, endearing and human.

Hey! Sorry taking so long to answer... I've been away DA lately too. Lot of work, little time, you know...
Thank you a lot for all the compliments, you're a really kind person! ^^
So you're a musician? What kind of instrument do you play? I used to play violin years ago...

Well, you're truly entitled to it, much more than I ever was. You know, when I was a kid, smoking had been a long established pastime by then, but still, some old folks would relate to it by making foreign influences responsible for such God-forbid-it behaviour. Same with coffee. Nearly everybody was in the habit of drinking coffee, but still, as kids we had to learn a song that went something like this: c-o-f-f-e-e, don't drink so much of it, don't be a Mussulman, cause they can't live without it ... and so on. This is not a good translation of a inherently silly song, it doesn't deserve a good translation.
Anyway, I'd never start a day without lots of coffee. No coffee - back to bed. As simple as that.
And a stunning gallery you have, man!

If I'm not mistaken, Winston Smith, is that artist from the Punk Rock era, right?
My Dad, he was a big fan of Winston's works even though he hated Punk Rock.
Nice silhouette, btw.

In this instance, it is the name of the hapless hero in George Orwells novel 1984. When trying to do this shot in the dark, I was fumbling around with my cigarettes, managing to do more damage to them than to me. It's when this sentence from the first chapter of 1984 came to my mind: "He took a cigarette from a crumpled packet marked VICTORY CIGARETTES and incautiously held it upright, whereupon the tobacco fell out on to the floor. With the next he was more successful."
A long shot, probably, but that's how my mind seems to work at times. It's kind of silly and surely beyond anything that could be sold as logic-based deduction. But since Big Brother is raising his ugly head again all around the globe (albeit in various, numerous disguises), I thought that a reference to said novel is not completely out of place. Big Brother is watching you. Maybe that's not true. At least not yet. But the technological means are in place already.
And that punk-rock era Winston Smith, I have to check him out, cause he doesn't ring the tiniest bell in my memory. With the internet at my fingertips, it shouldn't be too bothersome to keep a watch on him. Watching him. Maybe I can be some kind of big brother to him.

Is your username a Comsat Anegls reference, because Sleep No More is pretty much one of the best albums ever.

You're absolutely spot on. In your guessing as much as in your assessment of Sleep No More by The Comsat Angels.
Sorry, saw your post just now; haven't been a regular visitor to my own account lately.
I don't know if you ever followed The Comsat Angels later works, if not, then here's some recommendations:
My Minds Eye
The Glamour
Time Considered...BBC Sessions 79-84
From Beyond 87-95/Best of Vol.2 (never found a Vol. 1 myself, I just hope it does exist and that I'll come across it sometime soon)
Unravelled (some kind of unplugged session, and, surprisingly enough, it actually works.)
My best to you from the new year at hand.

Thank you for asking, Khuram. My spirits are not as high-strung as to necessitate a treatment by a specialist from the esteemed circle of medical professionals. Thanks God, then.
Carol is heavily down with a drawn-out flu (as are many others right now, right here), something which she finds depressing, something I have to agree with. I try to make it easy for her, but as she is pretty headstrong, she still has a tendency to overtax herself. Which is detrimental to her condition, but is played down by her, of course.
I then had the misfortune of a computer dying suddenly on me. I'm convinced that was on purpose, because these things are possessed by an evil spirit, one that resides within by design. As this was the computer I used for recording, I'm pretty sh*tfaced. To set up a new one, with all the software and special licensing involved, it will take me many, many hours to get into a productive environment again. Worst of all, me, as the High Priest of data backup sermons, didn't back up this computer as far back as 2009. Meaning that all projects, finished or in demo state, are lost (the computer was set up as a Raid 1 system, so there's no chance of recovery once one of the hard disks went to digital heaven, a heaven that propels us hapless users right into the Yang-part of this Yin: hell). Well, since I'm never satisfied with the things I create, there's no real damage done. I'll just start from scratch, hoping I'll do better next time.
On the upside: we're planning for a holiday, the first real break in something like five years or so. Depending on arrangements, we might even spend a few days in Dubai. While I'm not too keen on following up on all the architectural madness that has taken place since our last visit, I wouldn't mind spending a few hours in the Deira area. In the hope that it will still be as anachronistic as it was then. And of course I shall be busy with finding the best places for freshly prepared Dosas. Well, nothing is fixed right now, as we are late in trying to book flights and hotels for the month of April. I hate to plan far ahead, but as most people do just that, they're quicker than me in securing desirable destinations and accommodations.
Take care, and my best to you and your family.

You're very welcome, Rita.
It's mostly Dr. Jekill, I never cared much for Mr. Hyde. He is just a reference to the darker, lower side we carry around with us by default. All saints excluded, of course.
