I hope it's MS 8, or whatever they gonna call it - I don't really care about that matter.Β
I sincerely hope it is the classic arcade/console style game like SV001, MS2, MSX, and MS3 that we all know and love. Bonus points if they return to the roots, like fighting war machines and troops instead of aliens (Mars people are okay but not too much, like fighting them on three out of five/six stages).

Your welcome and I'm quite almost on the same boat regarding the return to a war themeΒ though I wouldn't mind if the upcoming game is akin to 3D but done better; matter of fact the game might be rendered in 3D instead of 2D sprites given that sprite making is too much of an effort for SNK to handle (though that does not apply to mobile but whatever) and I'm not really worried about that given that the graphics in the last 2 SNK games looked good so it's all good. Hell, if anything, I'm more worried if the reboot will still retain the cast and whatnot.

You do have a point there. As for the cast, the original four is sure to return IMO.... Don't know about Ikari Warriors or the Korean-French Tag Team (Trevor and Nadia), or they could cast someone new, who knows.
Well, we do expect improvements but at the same time - if it ain't broke don't fix it. Let's just wait until the day finally comes....

Personally I wouldn't mind having most of the cast retained (Attack characters included), even if it means the Ptoles return. Besides the upcoming Shamsho-Spirits game proves that SNK can do a reboot, so that's something. Though I'm mighty worried if the reboot will still be a shooter of sorts (run-n-gun or not), though I'm not for a idea of a FPS nor a fighter (I had to deal with a whole bunch of them back when this decade began).

It's kinda hard for me to find a good (and subsequently with same impression) monochrome artist with pencils these days, since a lot of them used digital software and such.
