I'll be on in around 15 minutes. I'll get a call about certain university stuff that I have to take so expect me around 9:30 PM = 3:30 PM
Also what are we going to do? Since there isn't any use for just the two of us creating a private room. So just regular turf war or Squad battles or what?

I'm sorry, I had to step out. Maybe tomorrow or another day? I had some others join. We had 6-7 people, so private battles would work.Β

Don't worry about it.
I don't know when I'll be home tomorrow. I guess it'll be 9:30 PM at earliest but it also could be later. I'll try to let you know if I'll be able to play a few matches.
Also what do you think of Rainmaker?

Sorry for the lack of response lately. Last week was my introduction week for university. Getting to know certain people and things like that. I was a bit nervous at first but I think the group I got, is one of the better ones I could have gotten.
It's 2 AM now and today (monday) is the last day of this introduction and to be completely honest I'm kinda sad about it, I want to get to know the people in my group even better, but after this week, I'll be in another group for the first 1 or 2 weeks of university. But I'll see if I can work something out. They already said they liked me and thought I was a nice guy who at least tries everything and leaves if he doesn't like it. Before last Sunday I had never been to a bar/pub and danced to music with others while the other people already had done that before. Also with autism, my social skills aren't that great and especially large amounts of people are very hard to deal with for me. So that's why they all praised me for trying and they support me and such.
So for me that makes it a whole lot easier to talk to them, knowing that they like me. So who knows, maybe we'll hang out some more even after today...maybe there's a new (best) friend among them.
Anyways back to Splatoon, I got my Splatfest theme, altough I imagine you already know it by now. But in case you don't, it's Singing vs Dancing. I think this is pretty cool, especially after the ones we had. I guess I'll go with dancing, since I sing horrible and I kinda learned how dance this week, so Dancing it is.
Well to be honest I never watched Transformers at all. But nevertheless I think it's a great theme, maybe a bit annoying for people, like me, who haven't seen anything of them, but still better then North vs South Pole.

Ah no worries. I know how the first week was for me.Β
It's fantastic to hear that you've befriend some people! And I'm sure you'll see the people from that group again, so I wouldn't worry The people I've met in my university years have been great, and I really hope you continue to have good experiences with them! Have you done anything fun in the past 24 hours with anyone or just at your university? I actually went to a little back to school water-palooza with some pools and waterslides.Β
I did hear about your Splatfest theme and I think it's great too! I too would choose Dancing for the same reasons. I have seen some people not like our splatfest too much because of the reason you said, but with any Sponsored Splatfest that would probably come up. The Japanese Splatfest pinning two Teas against each other, I'd be disappointed as I don't like tea at all. Though that is a different story in Japan.

Well the last day of the introduction was awesome. The end-party .... ceremony....ehm...let's just say it was the party that marked the end of the introduction, it was one of the best I've ever had. At some point during that evening/night when the group I was with just consisted of me and 4 others (the other group members already left, there also were also many other people from different groups but those aren't that relevant right now ) said that I really belonged in the group.
And that's what got me really emotional that night, mainly because I've always felt like I didn't belong in any kind of group, I was pretty much always the "weird" and silent kid.Β They also really cared about me because they knew that parties with lots of people are difficult for me so they kept asking if I was ok from time to time. For the first time that whole week I actually didn't want to go home. (I hope that counts as doing something fun. ) I think I've never bonded with people this fast.
I was sad that next day, because it would have to wait for 6 days until I would see them again. (BTW: If you didn't noticed already, I can be quite emotional. ) There's 1 person in particular that has my interest. He was the one who told me I was really a part of the group. (Then we had a group hug...also something I had never done before. ) We have a bunch of things in common and we also have some major differences, but that doesn't have to be a problem. (My best friend likes a lot of things which I can't stand, which is ok as long as you can respect that there doesn't have to be a problem. )
He also has experience at going to university since he already did a study last year, but quit because he didn't like it and then ended up in Biology (the subject I will study), so that's pretty nice, because he might be able help/support me here and there. Anyways I'll see how that unfolds...who knows, he could be (best) friend material.
So all in all, it was an amazing week, full of new experiences, great activities and emotional rollercoasters. I would say: A week to never forget.
Alright now that I've basically summarized my past week and experiences (believe me this is the short version, I could go on for another hour or so ) it's time for me to get back to Splatoon. I haven't played it for more then 9 days...I just hope I'm still decent at it. I'll probably play a few times before the Splatfest so I won't fail my team completely.
To be honest I wouldn't mind sponsored Splatfests that much (although I'd prefer non-sponsored ones) as long as almost all people can have a side on it. Like Cola vs Iced Tea. I mean I guess everybody has drunk either of them and has a preference. With Transformers you basically have to watch it to pick a side. Although you can just pick the color/design you like best. (I hope I made some sense here. )
Also Japan put 2 teas against each other!? Well that's just weird. I just hope that doesn't reach the EU or VS...they can keep THAT theme. I'd take North vs South Pole over that theme any day of the week. Besides I'm still waiting for Dogs vs Cats and Rollercoasters vs Waterslides to reach Europe.
...phew...that's a long wall of text...I hope you don't mind. Anyways this is my last week of "vacation" so the Splatfest will mark the end of it and I'm as excited as ever (and a little scared) to start at university, see all the amazing people of the introduction again and possibly meet awesome new people.

On a Splatoony note (I could edit the other comment but nah) I've gotten myself up to A rank in Rainmaker. I just.... LOVE Rainmaker. It's my favorite mode in the game and the only mode that I actually will stop what I'm doing to play it. In a complete modesty, I'm sooooo good at this mode. lol But I win 94% of my matches. I'm usually the one with the most kills, the one who brings the Rainmaker the farthest/to the end, and the one who makes a path for a different Rainmaker on my team. I just LOVE IT SO MUCH! I think at some point we should Squad up in Rainmaker! I'm not sure if there's anything against two different letter ranks squading up together (aren't you B?) though.

Well then I'll reply to the other comment in here as well...so we won't have 2 comment chains going on.
Anyways I'm just glad I was able to befriend these people so fast and so well. Usually this takes me weeks or even months, so I was certainly surprised to find myself being this close to them already. I just hope I can continue to work with them/see them/have fun with them, or at least with one of them. I'll see what happens, and I'll at least try me best to keep contact with one of them.
Like I said I haven't played much the past week, so there wasn't much Rainmaker practise but I would say I liked it most of the time. Because I sometimes had teammates who just didn't understand what to do or something. I mean I cleared a path for them, an easy route...no they take the long route no one has been on before. Or they take the Rainmaker a completely different way, away from the rest of the team. But if you have players who at least have a decent knowledge on what to do, it certainly is a fun mode.
I wouldn't say I'm really good at it yet...however I have had a decent amount of matches where I just solo steamrolled the other team, picking up the Rainmaker and just charging straight for the end point and also actually reaching it on the first try.
I would love to Squad up at some point...especially if you're as good as you say you are... ...
... Anyways I don't think different ranks matter, since you can Squad up with friends so I don't think they'll prevent you from playing with friends just because of a different rank. And I don't exactly remember my Rank. Good chance it will be B but not having played for a week makes me doubt it.

Yeah it's great! I hope you can continue to have fun with them! My university has a lot of fun events pretty often, so I'd assume yours will do the same! And those are a few of many opportunities!Β
Well...... I'm ready to be an Autobot King! Are you ready to be an Eternal Dancing Boy?!

Yeah mine will have activities as well. Don't ask me what exactly but I know they do.
Ofcourse I'm ready! I have my Dancing gear ready and I look fresh as ever. ... I want to win this time...at all costs.
Also, they might use your titles again. I mean Singing/Dancing King sounds better then Eternal Dancing Boy.

Snivy101 In reply to Dragonitor [2015-08-30 13:37:37 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I saw that they used our ranking system for you. Dancing King sounds a lot better.
Well mine's over, and we lost... We won popularity, but we lost wins... boo hoo xD
I kind of knew we weren't doing well with the wins, so I wasn't terribly surprised with the outcome. I actually didn't have much fun early on because I had atrocious teammates, teammates who probably were doing something else while the game was on... so they did nothing, and super fast lagging enemies (seeing a Dynamo roller zip around as fast as a a Brush because of lag is terrifying).
But as the Splatfest went on, I progressively had more fun. By the very end, I was having a lot of fun!
You'll have to let me know how yours went when the results come out later.

Dragonitor In reply to Snivy101 [2015-08-30 18:13:19 +0000 UTC]
For me it was quite the opposite. I started off with a pretty good team and got a pretty nice win streak. Later on it got more balanced. I didn't win or lose more then the other. Also this whole Splatfest I survived with a Carbon Roller and it was a blast!
Alright the results...are you ready? I'm reading it as I type...so here comes the hype....
Votes: 46% Singing - 54% Dancing
Wins: 57% Singing - 43% Dancing
Score: 274 Singing - 226 Dancing
...
I give up...I'm not destined to win a Splatfest. Next time I'll skip it. What a great way to start university...
Anyway now that the (unwinnable) Splatfest is over again, what did you think of the new weapons? As for me, I didn't like either one. I already didn't really like the regular Nozzlenose and the Bamboozler just isn't fit for me. If I charge I want the range and power of it, both of which the Bamboozler lacks. So I'm waiting for the next weapons to get released.
π: 0 β©: 1
Snivy101 In reply to Dragonitor [2015-08-30 18:43:43 +0000 UTC]
I feel so bad for you! Never won one... Honestly, I really thought dancing would win this on! :/ I've won half mine, but I just really have sympathy for you!
Bleh, I feel the same about the new weapons. I've never liked the Nozzlenose either. Not great for inking turf, and while I've heard it's pretty good for splatting, I have trouble locking onto an enemy with having to smash that ZR button. The Bamboozler eesh. Well my first 3 games after the update dropped had my whole team full of Bamboozlers (not me) and 1. When everyone's shooting it every second, that noise gets soooo annoying. 2. It still is terrible with Inking turf, and is pretty meh with damage. I mean you do usually need to hit someone with it twice unless they've already been hurt or if you have some Damage Ups.
While I'd love to try out the Carbon Roller Deco (has Seekers and the new Seeker Rush), the game will never be the same again once it's released. A lot of people use the Carbon Roller. And give it a Seeker blowing special, and everyone will just... die...

Dragonitor In reply to Snivy101 [2015-08-30 19:17:07 +0000 UTC]
Yea...and the worst part is...I've lost one due to the other side having more votes (before they updated the x2 to x4). That was the only time my side had more wins...but still lost.
But I'll keep on going...I'll be strong...for all of us...I'm fine....I promise......
On the positive side, I reached Level 30 and 31 during the Splatfest do I got another Armour gear. Also...Rainmaker is my current Ranked Battle so if you'll excuse me, I have some frustration I have to take care of...
And oh please don't get me started on the Bamboozler sound...It haunts me...I can hear and recognize it at any moment now.
REALLY!? A SEEKER RUSH....WHYYYY!!!??
I already think the people who use it are annoying, since they usually swim through it without people noticing...so cheeky. And in stages like Walleye Warehouse and Port Mackerel those Seekers are soooo stupidly annoying. This means no one will leave their base anymore and just fires Seekers everywhere. Personally I'm horrifyingly bad with Seekers so I'll stick to the regular Carbon Roller.

Dragonitor In reply to Snivy101 [2015-09-12 21:04:51 +0000 UTC]
Well to keep it short...busy. Univesity has started with all the work included. And since this is my first year and thus first experience with the new way of teaching and doing homework my first few days went quite bad acutally. I did way more then necessary, and ended up tired pretty quickly. However I have someone they call a "Buddy" (because of my austism). This person is a student from the same study but who is 1 or more years ahead of me. Mine is 1 year ahead of me. She helps me with everything I might have troubles with. Ranging from social problems to problems with taking notes and making summaries.
So this buddy helped my through my introduction week, motivating me to engage in activities and in conversations with others. Now that the social aspects are going pretty well, last week she helped me with the notes and summaries. So now that I know what and how I need to do things, it got a lot easier and more fun for me. My first exam is next friday already. (I get a certain subject for 3 weeks for the first few months) So I'm kinda nervous for that, since I don't know what to expect, in the way of difficulty and such.
And if that wasn't enough already, I also have to make report/paper of the practical things we did: researching things with a microscope and making certain bacteria grow on plates. I mean it was kinda fun to do and it made the course/lecture easier to understand, but with all the preparations for the exam and the fact I have to keep a journal in which I have to write everything I did during the research it all kind of crashed down on me. I'm sure I'll be fine, it just takes some time to get used to, that's all.
....Please...stop about my Splatfests...I can't win them, the themes are getting lame...and I'm tired... I believe I haven't played Splatoon for 2 or 3 weeks.
But seriously WHAT IS EUROPE THINKING!!?? Messy vs Tidy!? C'mon, take a theme from the US already! I mean I can live with the fact that I lose all my Splatfests, but at least keep the themes fun! ....Β Β ....sigh...well now that that is out my system, I would vote for Tidy, since I like my room/desk tidy. It might be messy sometimes, like right before an exam since I will pull every paper, note, book and summary from any place I can find them. And after the exam is done I'll make it tidy again.
So, what about you? How are you doing? And is your Splatfests theme announced yet?

Snivy101 In reply to Dragonitor [2015-09-13 01:52:11 +0000 UTC]
Glad to hear you're doing pretty well.Β
It's good to see that your Buddy is helping you through some of the work and social problems. Ironically I'm having a different kind of social problem myself. I haven't talked to one of my own friends because that got a little to wasted last week and things were a bit weird...
But there is a pretty big workload for when you do have class (still glad after 2 years that it's not 7 hours, 5 days a week like high school), so having someone to help you and make it easier is really important. I study with someone next door to me who's in one of my French classes. Ahhh French...
Funny that you haven't played Splatoon for a while because until today neither have I. I rage quit after losing enough times in ranked to rank down from my A to A-. Took a nice break for a little more than a week and finally played some Turf War today. Fun as always lol.
I feel bad that you're getting these Splatfest themes though. Messy vs Tidy isn't really something you prefer (I mean in some ways it can be but...), it's pretty much are you messy or tidy. I try to be tidy but can't help but be messy sometimes. I don't even know what I'd choose! :/ I guess I'd be with you with tidy as I do LIKE being tidy. Sometimes messy is more convenient for me in that I don't have to organize it, but I don't like it that way. I hope for once you can win!!!!
Ours is Art VS Science. I'm actually not the greatest drawer (I'm on Deviantart right? lol) as I don't do any professional drawing or really try to improve my skills to much, but I find it more fun then science. Science is more important to me, but I LIKE art more. What would you pick?

Sorry for the late reply, but like I said, this week was/is pretty busy for me. Tomorrow my first exam... ... After that I should have some room to breathe again.
All I can say is, that "Buddy" is my savior, without it I probably wouldn't be as confident and socially active like I am at this moment. I just hope to archieve 2 things in the upcoming months/years:
1) Doing good at university (obviously)
2) Getting 1 good friend. I mean I have 1 best friend already, but after all these years of middle school (7), I would love to get someone new to add to the list.
Speaking of my best friend...haven't seen him for about a month or so...just didn't have the time.
And I STILL haven't played Splatoon. ... sigh ... Upcoming weekend I should be able to. I hope I am still able to play properly. Especially considering it's Splatfest time.
Oh jeesh....your Splatfest theme is impossible for me. I mean I study Biology, which is a scientific study. But I really like to draw, as a way of self-expression and storytelling. I LIKE BOTH!!! I can't choose!!!! I mean both art and science have useful functions in society.
I guess I'd pick Science, mainly because my whole life I've wanted to know more. I wanted to learn why leaves change color in the fall, why certain things behave like they do, etc. Art (drawing) was always something I'd do as a hobby, just for fun. I don't want to choose, but I guess if I had to...Science it is.

lol that's hilarious cus I have an exam too, and I've been just as busy this week. The similarities. Β What's you're exam in?
That's pretty too bad that you've been too busy to see your best friend. I've been really busy too, but I was at least able to eat out with some friends a couple times this week. I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully after this exam you'll be able to see them again.
I played Splatoon once this week, so I'll try to fit in a game between now and saturday (Marching Pep band at a football game tomorrow). Also in regards to Splatfest... lol it seems every other Splatfest there's some error in my schedule. First one I was on vacation, third I was helping out at that camping trip, and fifth I'm going out of town for the day for most of the day. Though I'll get back late Saturday night, so I'll have some like 2-3 hours to play.
I know exactly what you mean. It was really difficult for me to choose my Splatfest side.
I'll agree that I find science way more important for the most part, but I'm big into music, which is technically an art, so I went with that. Also... new map tonight! Hope you'll be able to play it when you play again!

My exam was in Microbiology: Evolution, diversity and adaptation
Well I speak to him almost on a daily basis on WhatsApp and such, but nothing beats seeing him for real.
Well splatfest has begun for me...just completed a huge part of my assignment, so I guess I'll do a few matches before I go to bed. Then tomorrow....hehe...tomorrow...after I'm completely done, you better prepare youselves Messy people, because I have some anger and frustration to get out of my system.
And all those new weapons and maps I haven't played yet. (I believe I still haven't player the last 2 maps. )
Wow...they really don't like you at the Splatoon HQ. Maybe you should write a letter and tell them at which days you'll be unavailable so they can plan around that.
Well I'm not THAT into music. I mean I don't mind listening to it but I could also do without it. But good luck with your Splatfest. Show those "nerds" (sorry I had to ) how creative Artistic people can be.

Ah, well with it finally being over, I hope you get to see him in person again!
I really hope you finally win a Splatfest! I just found out that I won mine. 51% to 49% Wins AND Popularity! Sadly, I made it home to make it to Champion rather than Queen, but I still go a lot of Snails. I did only lose 4 games during my entire playtime yesterday, so I had a feeling that I'd contributed something good to the team.
Lol I'll guess they'll put one on October 10th and another on the 31st, and if that were so I don't think I'd be available on either of those days. Hopefully they schedule around those dates? PLEASE! lol
Win that Splatfest!

...sigh...I quit...I'm not meant to win Splatfests. This time Messy won with both Popularity and Wins...I guess I should have seen it coming, I mean in Splatoon you make a colorful mess everywhere you go so...no surprise Messy people win...
I really hope they don't plan them on those dates, but aren't they usually on the 3rd weekend of the month (or am I saying something stupid here )? Because if that's the case you don't have anything to worry about.

I saw, and I feel soooo bad for you :/ I really thought tidy had it, but... I guess not. Ugh. I wish you could win just one Splatfest! It was kind of the same. In a game with a colorful artisticΒ weapons and messy ink thrown around, I guess both would seem to win.Β
Well between the 1st and 2nd Splatfests, it was 2 weeks, but otherwise it's been 3 week intervals between em. Assuming that pattern continues, it'd be the 10th and 31st.

I mean at this point...after losing all Splatfests I kind of don't care anymore if I win or not. If I would play to win I would be devastated right now. The only thing I hope for at this moment are better themes for our Splatfests.

Yes, and I lost again...Cats won...
You had Ninja vs Pirates right? Which side did you pick and who won? I would choose Ninja's because I am already a person that can easily blend in the crowd and go unnoticed. Besides, the sneaky and stealthful approach would have my preference above the brutal and head on aggresive style of pirates.
We have Zombies vs Ghosts next week, which is pretty cool, maybe a week too late, considering this weekend was Halloween. I think I'd choose Ghosts because as of right now we don't have anything to counter them. I mean sure zombies are scary, but at least you can fight against them. I wouldn't know how to fight a ghost. Besides that, ghosts can fly/levitate, go through solid objects, turn invisible and can take control of humans/objects. I don't know about you, but personally I think ghosts are scarier/better then zombies.
Sorry for the late reply, university has been cruel this past 2 weeks. The class I have right now basically has too much stuff to learn in the required period of time (3 weeks). To be precise, it is double the amount of my previous class, which I also had for just 3 weeks.
Besides that I had to dissect serveral animals to study their interior build/organs (worms, lobsters, starfish, rats, crickets, frogs, fish, small sharks, buzzards and pigeons/doves) which I thought was very sad. I mean they were killed specificly for this purpose, which I just think is cruel. So I literally cried about that when I got home every time. So yeah, past few weeks have been tough for me, I'm very tired each day (2 hours of lecture, 3 hours in the lab to study animals and then at least 2 hours of homework/studying when I get home). Besides the amount of work, everything else is going pretty well, grades are pretty decent and social contacts are going exceptionally well for me. So it's not all bad news.
How have you been?

Ughh I just wish you could win one xD
Yeah we did have Pirates v Ninjas and I was on the side you would've been on, Ninjas. And We lost xD We had huge popularity with 71% but lost with the now x6 win votes with 48-52 I believe. At least now people can't really complain about popularity being a huge factor in it. I played only up to Defender as of course I was busy that day. And the prior Splatfest, Cars v Planes, was the first Splatfest I didn't participate in at all because I was out of town again for saturday. But I didn't mind as much because I just found the theme pretty boring.Β
It's good to see you've got a cool Splatfest theme, but of course as you said it is a week after Halloween. It's all mixed up because they waited a week to do the Dogs v Cats one, so now it'll follow the pattern: EU, JP, NA, etc. I've always enjoyed Ghosts too. I've like Zombie movies and Zombies, but I think Ghosts are just cooler in every way possible, so I'd go with them.
I'm sorry that you've been having a rough time at your university. I can understand the pressure, but I've been having a pretty easy junior year at my college, so I can't really compare right now. I never really enjoyed dissecting creatures either. I only could tolerate a human eye dissection (which I did way back in middle school like 8 or 9 years ago). It is pretty sad that the creatures are killed just to be dissected, but unfortunately there isn't much we can do. It's for educational purposes though, so at least it isn't for nothing. Lectures though. Ugh... I've hated them all three years I've been at my college. It's the one thing I wish they prepared me for better in high school. Though at least you're still keeping good grades and social contracts. I would give some advice, but sadly, grades should come first. First year I learned that the hard way xD
I've been pretty decent. Again, nothing has really happened with my own university. Nothing interesting that is. The most interesting thing that I've done recently is last weekend when I went to a fair 2 hours away from home. It'd been so long since I'd been to one, it just felt nice to have some fun.

Yeah I can see that you'd want better themes. Hopefully we'll get some cool ones next one.

Yeah, it's really unfortunate when you lost to popularity...
Funny because I too got the armor for 30 during the Splatfest! Though I'm 30 now. Don't spoil anything if you know but I know 2 of the Judd rewards at levels 40 and 50. Haven't seen or heard anything about 35 or 45, hopefully something cool, and hopefully I can at least get to 35 without being spoiled. Though I'd be mad if it were just some money or a Sea Snail...Β
I'm meh with seekers. When it comes to using them, I'll occasionally get someone with it, but usually I'll miss. I tend to be good at avoiding them though, so it may not be the biggest issue... but having 4+ coming at you at once... it'll be a bad time...

I don't mind your long wall of text xD I always love hearing from you and other Deviantart friends of mine!Β
I think it's fantastic (I say that a lot don't I?) that you've gotten into a group, and you had fun at the end-party. I've done literally nothing but work this week. I mean Splatoon a bit each night, but nothing compared to what you've done! Granted you're in your introduction week and I'm in my third year.Β

Alright!Β
I love Rainmaker! It's basically a better version of Tower Control. You go as fast as you want and your own route! And the Rainmaker itself is awesome. I won my very first game in the mode yesterday in about 40 seconds.

HAPPY-late-BIRTHDAY!
So it looks like both our Splatfests are on July 4th? I'm pissed, as my family and are leave for vacation that morning... I may get in a few matches it midnight but that'll be it :/

Thanks, but my B-day is JULY 23rd. I guess it is an early happy Birthday then.
Yeah we have it the 4th of July aswell, but our themes are still different. So the 2 regions are still split up.
I'm sorry you'll have to miss the first one. You'll at least be able to get a few matches in, I guess that's better then nothing. :/

Oh xD I thought it read "June" whoops!
A lot of us Americans are complaining about the day of Splatfest because July 4th is the worst day to have Splatfest for America! The 4th of July is our independence day, so it's all about cookouts, watching fireworks, and spending time with friends and family outside and whatnot. Even though I'll be in a car driving to Orlando for most of the day (that's why I won't be able to), other Americans will be spending time with family! It's... a stupid decision on their part. So, lots of people will be missing it or most of it. Considering a leave at 06:00 in the morning, I'll either play at midnight a few matches before or wake up a little early before heading off. Though, because I'm driving... I may wake up early instead (I'll need a lot of sleep)

It's ok. It's really nice of to actually notice it and wish me a happy birthday.
Oh yes that's right! I don't know much about the special days of the US. I vaguely remembered there was something about the 4th of July, but I didn't get it until you mentioned it. Well, then I think Nintendo has made a little mistake there. I don't know why they did that. Possibly because it's the first weekend they were able to launch it and they didn't want people to have to wait any longer? That's the only explanation I can think of.
Wait 6:00 in the morning! I don't think I would be able to drive properly at that time. I would suggest you wake up a little earlier, since you said you'll need a lot of sleep, then midnight isn't really a viable option I guess. (+ You won't be drowsy when you'll have to drive. )

Yeah, I posted an article on Reddit with my own opinions on the whole thing, and I got very mixed reactions to it. Out of the the 40-50 people who commented, many were on my side, complaining that they'll be doing something else or don't want to play it on out Independence day. But at the same time, may others are happy because they have the day off from work (I have the week off) and can play for that day and are telling people to get over it. I wish Splatfests weren't just 24 hours, as if they made it 48 or 36 hours, it would give people a little more time. start it the 3rd, end the 5th.Β
Another theory people have is that they're planning it on a holiday where less people will play because of server issues. I don't see it being a problem for servers as basically everyone was on Splatoon launch day (and week for that matter) a ton.
Considering its a 12 hour drive, I'll definitely go to bed much earlier and probably set my alarm for 4:45 or 4:30 so I can play some matches.

YES PLZ more then 24 hours!! Why so short? Are the Squid Sisters THAT expensive to hire for another day?
Well I can slightly agree on the server argument, since last time they did a Splatfest it didn't end so well. So with less people participating, the servers should be able to handle it better, and Nintendo then gets to see if they fixed it or not. While if everyone got on like in the first week it might just end up failing again.
I guess we'll never know why they did it that way. :S
A 12 hour drive...good luck with that. (Says the person that still needs to get his drivers license...shhh...don't tell people ).
I guess you already picked up your Splatfest T-shirt in Splatoon, I love that little detail. Just a bit bummed you have to return it afterwards.
And I LOVE the Carbon Roller. Although I can't just run over people anymore, I can quickly fling ink at them like never before. And the run speed is pretty nice, not as fast as the Brush, but the Carbon Roller just spreads just more ink, I am more then willing to sacrifice that little bit of speed for it.

Yeah! Honestly, for something that looks so gorgeous (I mean they obviously put effort in to the visuals duh) make it 24 hours long. I understand it not being like a week long, but come on! 2 days? 3 days? Heck it seems they're falling on weekends so make it Friday-Sunday or at least Saturday-Sunday!
I remember when I got my driver's license. I kind of cheated on the minimum amount of hours I needed before I could get my license.
I do wish we could get the Splatfest Tees back. I actually wonder what it was that prompted Nintendo to make that decision to make you return them? It's a good thing I didn't reroll my abilities on my first shirt before they took it away (some people did and then go a fresh shirt without any abilities unlocked yet), and though I got some pretty crappy ones for my own shirt, I'm not going to reroll them if I'll be on for 0-1.5 hours (hopefully I'm not to dazed to play or forget to wake up)
The carbon roller is SO MUCH FUN! It's something that I really wanted actually before it was even announced, and I'm happy we got it. I'm pretty sure in that stupid leak (don't know if you heard about it but as usual the game got data mined and the weapons and modes got discovered... though there's still a ton of other stages that aren't on the disc that couldn't be data mined) there's another Carbon Roller, hopefully with better sub and specials. I really don't like the Inkzooka, I guess I just suck with it. And Burst bombs are very meh to me. I'd prefer Ink Mines, Seekers, or especially Beakons, and maybe Bubbler or Inkstrike for the Special?Β

I just hope they learn and adapt ("transform" if you like) and make it the whole weekend at the very least.
My abilities on the shirt aren't amazing either but I just go with it since I'll have to return it anyway. :S
Yeah I don't really like the Inzooka either but in certain stages (mostly BlackBerry skatepark) it got me quite a few kills and adventages. I guess it's a matter of knowing when and where to use it.

Yeah I've gotten kills with the Inkzooka many times, but just aiming it and still being vulnerable, and the fact that it doesn't cover much ink doesn't really make me crazy about it. I much prefer the Inkstrike, Bubbler (though I never use weapons with it), and Kraken.
So how about that new mode tonight? Tower Control! I think it'll be fun to try out, but I'm always afraid that I'll lose my Rank (Currently B with 20 points)
