A majority of my posts remain at 0 comments. This is very disheartening considering how much time and effort I put into deviantART for the past year. I comment on any image I see and like. I'm just not generating traffic.I'm going to take a break to dedicate more time to other outlets. I will still moderate the groups if necessary but I won't be posting to my galleries since they are pretty dead.

I am not a talented artist by any means. Especially considering the extreme level of talent I have seen here on deviantART for years. I never bothered to create an account because frankly, I don't feel like I deserve to be in the same room with the fantastic talent already present.
I ENJOY art. I ENVY the ability of all of you and wish I had the time, patience and coordination it takes to create in the real world what you see through your mind's eye.
I believe I am artistIC. Meaning, I can see what I want to create. I can visualize it vividly even. Unfortunately my fingers and hands don't really listen to what my mind has to say and the art I create looks like something you all could probably stamp out with your bare feet. (No offense to you artistic amputee's out there which I'm sure are also loads more capable than I.)
Still, I wanted to have a repository for my feeble attempts at art and I did not want to share/embarrass myself on Facebook or Google+. So what better place than deviantART on a profile no one would know about or even come visit. :)
If you accidentally mosey by, please don't laugh too hard.
I plan to upload some of the favorite pictures I've taken. (The BEST artform for articaps like me.)
I plan to upload some of the laughably simple drawings I've done.
I like to play with Photoshop and Gimp, really who doesn't these days, so I may upload some strange or random items now and again.
I may even toss in a silly word or two since I see literature is also accepted.
Oh and I really appreciate the favs but...a heartfelt comment goes SOOO much farther.

The critique does help. I did wonder about whether or not to upgrade the lens I have, Now I know for sure that doing so will be a good idea.

What kind of lens do you have now?

I have two. 1 18-55mm kit lens and a Tamron 70-300mm telephoto lens. I typically use the latter to shoot sports, the autofocus is a little slow for football/soccer.

The Tamron lens I have is great. Occasionally it is a bit slow for football photography unfortunately. I'm gonna be using again tonight for another football match and in a couple of weeks I'll be in Skegness for the beach race weekend. This lens I have worked wonders at last years racing.

I've gone to California Speedway a few times and they don't let you get close to the track there. They move you away fast and my little lenses aren't powerful enough to get a good close shot. I may have to try at a smaller track somewhere.
I like going to R/C tracks.

I've been looking at telephoto lenses recently. It might be worth having a look at Tamron and Sigma lenses. I've heard good things about Sigma and the photography mag I read rates them quite well.
Maybe I should look up local R/C tracks near to me. Ever thought of going to go karting tracks?

Yes I have done a little bit of shooting at a Kart track but the lighting was terrible. It was tough to get clear shots without flash.

Yeah just the founder. I searched for other Mark Crilley groups but they were all dead. So I created another one because no one wanted to and started building it up again.
I'd rather just be a member. Less work. But no one else seemed to be up to it. I invited Mark to join. We'll see if he responds when the group grows a little more.

The only one I found was the MarkCrilleyFanClub which has 47 members in it. The founder deleted their account and there aren't any admins so you can't add anything to folders or anything. They just left it open and abandoned.
Is there another fan group? If so let me know. I'd love to join it.

You should be able to. Can you try again please? Another user had the same problem but I shut it off and turned it on again and they were able to join.
