Did you know embroidery thread is $6~8? For one color?Β
Did you know minky fabric $10~15 per yard? For one color?Β
Because it is. Now consider that, and consider that doesn't include the stuff that goes inside the doll to give it shape. Nor does it include the time the artist has to take to make the pattern correctly (this is stuff you don't even see!) and the time to finish the final product. Shouldn't the artist get paid for the time, just as any other laborer does? Say, when you get a car repaired, don't you also pay for parts AND labor? It's the same.Β
Go on and try making one yourself, and you'll soon come to realize the prices people charge are actually quite fair. Especially when you see how the right tools ($$$$$$$) give you the right looks you're looking for.

Uhm you know materials are not that cheap and it costs a high amount of time to create such a stuffed toy, of course you have to pay for both material + time spend creating those !

Its all hand made, takes hours- days weeks to sew every last stitch perfect and to make the patterns and pay for all the materiel.
even if she charges minimum wage- lets count all the hours she spends making these customs toys that are high quality 100$ is a deal if she puts 30+ hours into each one which she likely puts more.
If you dont like it. Make you own and quit complaining.
reason walmart can offer crap like that so cheap is cause its cheaply made by a machine and usually will tear apart in a matter of days or weeks.
