I will say that I kinda consider myself a novice in digital art (I'm more an animator than an illustrator, though I do more fanart)
If you're interested in digital art though, I'd say to get a graphics tablet (Wacom tablets are awesome) and drawing software (I use paint tool SAI, but photoshop, GIMP and others are good too) if you haven't already.
Aside from that, you can find great tutorials here on dA, and looooads of awesome tutorials on tumblr...
I don't particularly have much technical tips, but in general I'd just say just keep practising whatever you want to draw, look up tutorials and reference material if you don't know how to draw something, and NEVER give up (sounds kinda clichΓ©d but yeah XD).
I hope that helped you somewhat! I might do actual tutorials sometime if enough people want...
