I love your Jack Remixed comic. Hope you keep it up! It's much better-drawn than the original, and I like the story so far because it doesn't rely so much on rape, and I haven't found any spelling or grammatical errors.

You're welcome! I was intrigued by the storyline of the original, but honestly, I think Dave Hopkins is a small-time artist with a very big ego. As for his conduct... well, I sometimes have Cool Devices-ish fantasies, but I'm not gonna subject a rape victim to them. Whatever fantasy one has, it's never okay to subject an unwilling participant to something that could be a trigger.

Fair enough. I can understand some of the appeal. It seems to start off as a gritty pull-no-punches furry comic and, from my understanding, that was back in the early 2000s when there wasn't a lot of that around. Most of the appeal now seems to be nostalgia or infamy. There's all this time that people have invested in it and they want to see how it goes or if it'll do something else outlandish. The original may not be my cup of tea but I don't mind showing a different take on it.
As for the original artist himself? I've never talked to him so I don't know the kind of person he is. I've seen some stuff about him and from what I've seen I don't like, but I can't fully judge yet.

He had made friends with a fan who said that his comic helped her open up about being sexually abused, and while she was talking to him about it on the phone, he was asking her to continue because it was giving him a hard-on. Not kidding. He sounds like a total creepo, and I don't think I wanna communicate with him if I don't have to.

But anyway, will you also be doing the Megan's Run story and the like? That was a cool story arc, with a woman working to undo the mistake she made so a girl that she saved from being murdered would be able to grow up.

I don't want to commit myself to something like that. Currently i only had plans to go to the end of this story. If i planned to go further I'd have to drop a lot of the quality to go faster. I can hammer out an easy page in about 2weeks but most pages take about 3-4. This last page is taking about 6 due to technical setbacks (lost about 2 weeks of very detailed work) and about a week or two of not even wanting to look at it. That all said, I'm curious how my version of the characters would go and what i could pull off with other ones. There's a separate group of people doing a more direct remix though. Check out "teamsambugren" on tumblr. Theres about 3 of them i think and they're a lot better at this than me.

Oh. Does teamsambugren do original drawings or just riffs of Dave's comic? I did a search, and couldn't really find any pages. I hope I can find their version soon, because I like the basic premise, but it could have done without the reliance on rape for titillation. Also, I'd like to see Specks actually in-character, though Hopkins' version was pretty cool what with how she explained to Megan how wrong her mother was.

Thanks! I like their art style, though I also like your smooth lines and attention to things like anatomy. Your furries look less cartoony and more anatomically possible. I just wish they would post somewhere besides tumblr, because right now it's kinda hard for me to browse those pictures with my old-ass computer XD

Do you mean the "request critique" feature when you post art? I don't think I've ever used the feature myself. I just don't really feel I should request it. If someone wants to critique something then that should be up to them. It just feels odd to ask for it from the general public.
Are you asking if I had critiqued work before? I have; it takes a lot of time and energy but I have. Why's that?

I was asking if you critiqued before. I have done a lot of critiques in the past. Stepped on a few toes, but there were also people who were very unskilled at art but responded well to my critiques and improved immensely within a few weeks of being critiqued. One even said that these heavy critiques I gave were the kinds of comments she liked.
I also like being critiqued. I mean, if you wanna improve, you gotta be able to take a critique.

KAK is one of the oldest drama-queens in the furry fandom, going so far as to early on start obsessively stalking an underaged male member of the Road Rovers fandom. Just giving you a heads-up 'cause she is still around and making a spectacle of herself in my journal. She's also harassed other people on deviantart - saw a post from a commenter on her page. Just beware of her.
