Hello c: I'm making custom My Little Ponies with my niece, she also really likes monster high dolls so we've been making our own version of Avea Trotter (she doesn't like the legs on hers). We've tried putting the bodies together with DAS Airdry Clay but it keeps cracking and as far as I'm aware we cant sculpt onto the monster high body with fimo and dump it in the oven like we do with the ponies. Could I possibly ask what medium you used with your own (BEAUTIFUL, by the way) centaur creation? Is it some kind of air drying epoxy instead? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's only for fun little projects with her, but I know she would be ecstatic if we could get it perfect. She's a bit of a perfectionist like myself. Thank you so much for reading, your dolls are just simply stunning, brilliant work!

I apologize for the delay, the medium I used to join the two doll bodies was apoxie sculpt, it's a two part medium you mix together, that dries and can be sanded. it can be purchased from aves studios online. But the horse base for the doll was a my little pony talking celestia doll. ^.^ I had to saw off the head of the horse, sand her, sculpt them together then paint and seal her ^.^

I just love all you work! I was just wondering, what paint do you use? Im looking to re-paint some old toys but not very sure where to start as Im new to it all and I just adore the way you paint!!!!!

AdeCiroDesigns In reply to meownyo [2013-08-24 02:51:51 +0000 UTC]
I use craft acrylics [folk art, apple barrel, etc.] however, what type of paint you'd use would depend upon the type of toys. Artist grade acrylics are always better, but the cheapies will do in a jiffy. If you'd like to pm me with some info about the type of toys you are going to work on, I can try to give you some suggestions ^,^

Thank you so much for your help! I've got different types of paint at home and looking into buying more expensive brand of acrylics. Im mainly looking into painting MLP's.

So how much is the reoot if I send you the doll and it is a doll is a cam so it doesnt have hair to orignially take out?
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
AdeCiroDesigns In reply to QueenJessika [2012-09-01 12:43:43 +0000 UTC]
Is it one of the old cam heads? Not the witch or kitty or new extension packs? The new cam heads are much more difficult if not near impossible to reroot. But, as a basic rule, reroots cost $35.00. That covers the hair cost, and the time, as I do needle and thread method to make the hair more secure, and it takes quite a bit of time. Hope that helps!

QueenJessika In reply to AdeCiroDesigns [2012-09-01 14:24:35 +0000 UTC]
is the skelly one hard to reroot?( and sorry didnt think about that ... and I you work really hard)
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
AdeCiroDesigns In reply to QueenJessika [2012-09-01 14:34:56 +0000 UTC]
The skeleton cam add on pack? No she's an older cam, so she'd be a typical reroot

QueenJessika In reply to AdeCiroDesigns [2012-09-01 15:36:14 +0000 UTC]
ok just for future refrence how much would she [link] be I know crappy crappy old artwork XD I will have a better pic up of her if I commission you
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
AdeCiroDesigns In reply to QueenJessika [2012-09-03 12:54:41 +0000 UTC]
The cost would depend greatly upon whether you would provide the doll, and cam accessories to make her skeletal yourself, or if I would need to purchase them. ^.^ But, I would count on it costing between $85-$110, depending upon the details.

haha i might just have you re-root and do a face up(is it cheeper that way? ) I can make the outfit ( I will have wait till I have money though lol ) how much is shipping?
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
AdeCiroDesigns In reply to QueenJessika [2012-09-05 13:10:23 +0000 UTC]
faceup and rehair costs $60.00 together, if you provide the doll ^.^ Shipping in the usa is usually two dollars and some odd cents, outside of the usa it's generally between 4-6 dollars.
