Madeleine Williamsis a soft spoken country, rarely seen by anyone. She is impulsively shy and withdrawn, as she is often overshadowed by and mistaken for her sister, Amelia, the representation of the United States of America. She wants to be as helpful towards others as she can, but is unsuccessful in her attempts to be so as she is not often noticed, and is quite clumsy by nature (as she has gotten used to people not being able to see her, but she still gets embarrassed about it). She is generally very peaceful, unless provoked.
If someone does see her, she will be very tentative and apologise for the most minor of things, as she is scared of angering the person so much that they start ignoring her. She is very apprehensive about people who do see her- though internally grateful to them- as she is not sure whether they too will eventually stop seeing her, but once they have her trust she is fiercely loyal to the bitter end.
Madeleine habitually enjoys very sweet food, hence her love of pancakes and maple syrup. She loves the cold weather and finds it difficult to adapt to hotter conditions (especially since she is perfectly happy wearing multiple layers of clothing, thank you very much; she's extremely self-conscious being exposed to others in any way). She is very proud of her people and heritage; something that may have originated mainly from her being mistaken for her sister all the time.
One of the only times you will ever see Madeleine be aggressive in any way is when she is playing hockey. It is a single point when something has her whole-hearted effort. She is extremely competitive as she feels she has something to prove to others- that she is worth remembering.
